Head Housekeeper, The Cliffden Hotel
The Cliffden Hotel is a magnificent property set in seven acres of beautiful gardens, perfectly situated for access to the golden stretches of the Devon Coastline. It is the ideal location from which to enjoy the natural beauty of the region. It is also near several other popular holiday destinations such as Torquay and treasured local heritage sites such as Dartmoor National Park.
Part of the growing portfolio of properties operated by award-winning hotelier Starboard Hotels, the Cliffden has a vacancy for a Head Housekeeper, the perfect employment opportunity for a talented individual seeking to embrace a new challenge and to grow with us as we seek to continue delivering exceptional service to our guests. The Cliffden specialises in delivering outstanding hospitality to visually impaired guests, many of whom have guide dogs, so a love of dogs is essential.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all rooms and public areas are thoroughly cleaned, presented and prepared to welcome new and returning guests to the Cliffden for their stay. It is an essential part of the Head Housekeeper’s remit to allocate daily and weekly cleaning duties, in addition to issuing items such as keys, linen and cleaning materials to the housekeeping team. You will also be responsible for controlling the department’s costs, encompassing rotas, labour control and replenishing out of stock items. It is the Head Housekeeper’s responsibility to report any damage or safety issues arising in a timely and accurate fashion.
To excel in this role, you need to demonstrate several core competencies. The ability to resolve problems and respond calmly to emergencies while making effective decisions is key, as are outstanding planning and organisation skills. You should be adept to nurture working relationships with team members and other departments, and be able to identify the small details that make a big difference to a guest’s experience at the Cliffden. As the leader of the housekeeping team, it is also important that you demonstrate a passion for leading, training and supporting others in their personal and professional growth
We’ll reward all of your hard work with a competitive salary of £16,500 per annum, and a comprehensive benefits package, including free meals while on duty, in addition to a 50% discount on food at beverage at the hotel. You will also be eligible for staff and family and friends rates at any of Starboard’s 20 hotels, and have free access to our indoor heated swimming pool for yourself and another person. You will be given 28 holiday days, including all public and Bank Holidays. Your standard working week will be 35 hours, five over seven days, 8:30am – 16:00pm.
We are looking for someone who possesses the passion and ambition to become an ambassador for Starboard Hotels and uphold the company ethos that has seen it establish itself as a leading name in the domestic hospitality industry, with a burgeoning reputation for exceptional customer service and guest experience. Starboard Hotels is committed to investing in the futures of both its individual hotels and its team members. There has never been a more exciting time to become a valued member of the Starboard family.
If you believe that you are the person we are searching for and would relish the prospect of joining our dynamic and progressive organisation, please send your CV and any relevant documentation to Greg Henry: firstname.lastname@example.org.
