Located within the soon-to-be Derby Riverlights hotel (currently Holiday Inn), The Engine Room marks a significant milestone in the £5 million redevelopment of the Riverlights property, which is set to relaunch in early 2026 under IHG’s voco brand.

Now open to both hotel guests and the public, the restaurant offers a dynamic dining experience in the heart of Derby, blending modern British cuisine with a setting that pays homage to the city’s engineering legacy.

With its name and aesthetic inspired by Derby’s historic ties to the automotive and rail industries, The Engine Room features industrial-chic interiors, warm lighting and a menu designed to appeal to locals, business travellers and leisure guests alike.
